NIDS has a group of volunteers who are capable of working with the community and spreading awarness about disaster and its possible hazards.  All the volunteers are women, as NIDS focuses more on women and marginalized groups. The volunteers have taken various trainings such as PVA, Beautician Training, Sewing and Knitting, Leadership Training. NIDS can certainly work with other organizations which work in the field of disaster.

NIDS conducted PVA programme with the help of Action Aid Nepal. NIDS also worked with Rastriya Dalit Aayog for helping the students at Shri Navadurga Prathimik Vidyala at Dahachowk.

NIDS is also a member of DpNet (Disaster Prepardness Network Nepal).
